Walmart Donation Will Benefit Park Project
The corporation's latest funding contribution will go toward the completion of Village Park.

Mayor John Noak accepted a $3,000 donation from last month on behalf of the village.
The Feb. 14 check presentation ceremony wasn’t the first time the retailer has contributed to the village.
Last year, the corporation gave the parks and recreation a $15,000 donation, which contributed to the completion of a pavilion at . Another $4,000 donation went toward the village hall's new home.

“We used a portion of that toward the opening of village hall,” Noak said.
The latest donation will help fund improvements at the picnic shelter, located behind the Romeoville Recreation Center, 900 W. Romeo Road. When completed, the park’s amenities will include shuffle board, bean bag games and a new pathway.

“It’s part of Walmart’s ongoing community commitment,” Noak said.
