Whiz Kids: Cub Scouts Pack 20

All nine members of Pack 20 are moving on to the Boy Scouts and have earned the Arrow of Light Award.

Each week, Romeoville Patch will seek suggestions from readers for individual kids, youth groups, teens and even sports teams that wow us with their accomplishments.

We want to hear about these amazing children and teens and select one each week as the Patch Whiz Kid.  Submit your nomination in our comment box below or e-mail the information to Local Editor Shannon Antinori at shannon.antinori@patch.com. Be sure to include all of the information listed below.

  • Whiz Kids’ Accomplishment: All of the boys have finished four or five years as Scouts, adhering to the organization’s core values, and decided to continue on with the Boy Scouts (troops #20 and #22).
  • Whiz Kids’ Key to Awesomeness: All nine boys received the Arrow of Light award, the highest possible award for Cub Scouts. To achieve it, Scouts must earn the Webelos Scout badge and eight activity badges. In addition to the skill and activity requirements of the preceding ranks, the Arrow of Light requires Scouts to learn the Scout Promise and Scout Law, and visit one meeting and one activity of a Boy Scout troop, in preparation for advancing to the Boy Scouts. The Arrow of Light award is the only Cub Scout award that can be worn on a Boy Scout uniform.
