WLRA To Air Christmas Music In July For United Way

The Lewis University radio station's popular holiday music will fill the airwaves for charity this summer.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Christmas spirit will make its debut a little early this year, thanks to a WLRA fundraiser for the United Way of Will County. From July 8 to 14, tune in to 88.1 FM — or download the station's free app — to listen to holiday music 24 hours a day for WLRA Christmas in July. Instead of commercials, WLRA will air brief messages every 15 minutes about United Way agencies in Will County at no cost to the United Way or the agencies, the station announced.

The WLRA Christmas programming will feature sacred and popular music from traditional to contemporary favorites, appealing to people of all tastes and ages, the station said.

The United Way of Will County is a not-for-profit organization that raises money annually to support local human care services provided by not-for-profit agencies. Through donations, the agencies have bolstered the health and well-being of communities, strengthened families and nurtured and supported children and youth, the United Way said. The organization is governed by local volunteers.
