Work Continues For I-55, Weber Road Project
The project has under four months left until its scheduled completion date.
ROMEOVILLE — With under four months left until the expected completion date of the project, construction continues at the Interstate 55 and Weber Road interchange. The Village of Romeoville recently share a 2-week outlook for the project, which is set to finish on Jan. 10, 2022.
According to the village, the closure of Windham Parkway intersection is now needed for the construction of intersection pavement. Other work for the north contract includes: pouring the concrete shoulder at the northwest ramp; framing and pouring of concrete pavement; installation of temporary lighting and traffic switch; pavement removal; installation of sign foundations and storm sewer at the northeast and southeast ramps; grading, placement of shoulder and guardrail at I-55; installing light conduit and foundations at Normantown Road; pave asphalt widening and driveways at Remington; and the pouring of sidewalk and paving of shared used path and driveways north of the interchange.
For the south contract work, traffic signal foundations, hand holes and conduit will be installed; sidewalk will be constructed; and the curb and pavement will be constructed at medians and the curb installed along the west side of Weber north of Grand.

When finished, the project will add a third lane to each direction of Weber Road between 135th Street and 119th Street, according to the village.
