• Schaumburg signs 3-year contract with police union retroactive to May 2025 (dailyherald.com) — Schaumburg trustees have approved a new three-year contract with village police officers, retroactive to May 2025 and running through April 2028, including 3.5% annual raises and boosted specialty and longevity pay. The deal comes as the department prepares to move from its longtime Schaumburg Road station to a new headquarters on East Woodfield Road by late 2028.
   

• Residents Raise Concerns About Data Centers, WGN Site Free Access (journal-topics.com) — Local leaders in Elk Grove Village are weighing a proposed data center on the WGN transmitter property, and warn that if their annexation deal lapses, neighboring Schaumburg or Cook County could control what gets built there. Residents are pressing officials about noise, wildlife, and water impacts, while the mayor argues data centers are preferable to heavy truck traffic and says modern facilities recycle most of their water.
