12th upcoming Buccaneers Season starts with Recruiting

Joliet- It all starts in January of 2015 and the games won’t be played until late May or early June of 2015, but this is the time, where the Joliet Buccaneers Organization starts its mission of recruiting young men; who are interested in still playing competitive football, after their high school and or college career has come to an end. “It’s sad to see young men after they have done so much for their high school teams and or colleges, over the last 4 years, have to say goodbye to all the memories and accomplishments that they have done over that time”, said Michael Ingram President of the Joliet Buccaneers. I take refuge in knowing that these young men can start a new career and memories at this level of play said Ingram.

The Joliet Buccaneers Minor League Football Organization will be conducting their OTA’s (Organized Team Activities) for the next 6-8 weeks indoor practices. “I see this football organization as a light at the end of a tunnel, for young men graduating this upcoming May, without a clue what they will do next said Ingram. Each and every year local high schools graduate 200-300 seniors per school year, about 25-35 of those seniors are varsity players, and about another 5-10 of those players will be playing collegiate football at a 2 year to 4 year institution of higher learning. That leaves another 10-15 players that will go into the workforce leaving the football behind but in their hearts and minds. “It’s hard for them to walk away from the game, “said Head Coach Vernon McCants. Some of these young men, have the talent to play ball at the next level, but never were given a chance at the high school level to show case their talents said McCants.

The Buccaneers football is a program growing with promise for young talented players from the local area of high schools and colleges. This past season the Buccaneers had players from Joliet Central, Joliet West, Plainfield Central, Plainfield East, Plainfield South, Romeoville, Bolingbrook, and even as far as Crete Monee. The Buccaneers football program is about growth, and progress within the community, it’s not just about playing football. The organization is something of an investment, that investment is our players and their work on and off the field with community service involvement. The investment in the community is what the Buccaneers Organization, calls its gift back to the community that has given so much to these young men, during their careers at the local youth football programs and the local high schools.

If any young men playing football now and his high school career will be ending soon, and also will be turning 18 in the coming months is interested in being a part of the Joliet Buccaneers Minor League Football Organization.
