19-Year-Old Woman Sexually Assaulted While Jogging in Rockdale
The man allegedly told the woman to stay where she was before fleeing the area.

A 19-year-old woman was sexually assaulted Sunday while jogging on the I&M Canal Trail, Rockdale Police Chief Robert Dykstra told The Herald-News.
The woman was running on a path when a man came out of the bushes and sexually assaulted her. The man allegedly told the woman to stay where she was and then fled the area. It’s unclear if the man was armed during the attack.
The woman told a passing jogger what had happened and he told her the Rockdale Police Department was nearby, according to the report.

Both the man and the woman went to the department around 11 a.m. and talked to an officer outside. The woman was taken to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center.
Dykstra told The Herald-News the Illinois Conservation Police were directing the investigation.
