2 Arrested During Police Raid on Joliet Trailer

The two men tried to flee through the trailer's kitchen, police said.

Two men were arrested during a raid on a Cass Street trailer Tuesday.

Ryan Salyers and James Hoehn, both 24, were sitting on a couch in the trailer when the cops hit the place about 3 p.m.

Salyers and Hoehn tried to make a run for it by dashing through the kitchen but officers caught them before they got far, police said.

Officers with the Joliet Narcotics Unit and deputies from the Will County Sheriff’s Department reportedly found a sawed-off Remington shotgun, drugs and cash. The shotgun turned out to have been stolen from someone in San Antonio, police said.

Salyers was charged with the possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug equipment, possession of a stolen firearm, the unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, possession of ammunition by a felon, and the unlawful use of a weapon with a barrel shorter than 16 inches. Hoehn was charged with the delivery of cannabis.

Salyers is an ex-convict and is still on parole. He was released from prison a year and a half ago after doing time for robbery and possessing a weapon as a felon.

Salyers was also arrested on a warrant charging he failed to appear in court for another drug case.
