2 Shorewood Officers Attacked By Glen Mor Drive Man: Prosecutors

SHOREWOOD, IL — Marcin Slaby, a 35-year-old Shorewood resident, is no longer in the Will Couny Jail in connection with Sunday night's disturbance at his house in the 400 block of Glen Mor Drive. The Will County State's Attorney's Office of Jim Glasgow has charged Slaby with two counts of aggravated battery to a police officer and one count of resisting the arrest.

Slaby became violent toward a pair of Shorewood officers called to his house to investigate a domestic disturbance call, police reports show.

During the incident, Slaby kicked one Shorewood officer in the leg and a second officer in the chest, police reports indicate. The two officers were not seriously injured.

Police reports indicate Slaby became combative and uncooperative with the officers as they showed up at his house to investigate the initial disturbance call that came from a woman at the residence. When the first squad car arrived, Slaby met the officer outside his house and he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, according to police.

Eventually, a physical confrontation ensued outside Slaby's home, prompting the first Shorewood officer on the scene to call for emergency assistance, police reports indicate.

Slaby was booked into the county detention facility around 10 p.m. Sunday. The Shorewood resident was released from the jail around 5:40 p.m. on Monday after posting 10 percent of his $10,000 bail, jail records indicate.
