55-Year-Old Man Dies in Route 52 Collision

The man's vehicle was struck by a tanker truck and then another vehicle.

A 55-year-old Lake Forest man has died from injuries sustained in a car accident earlier Friday morning, according to the Kendall County Coroner’s Office.

James Hollander was driving southbound on Grove Road when he stopped at a stop sign. When he proceeded into the intersection he was hit by a tanker truck going westbound on Route 52, according to the coroner’s office. Hollander’s vehicle spun around and was hit by another car traveling eastbound on 52.

The tanker truck tipped over and spilled gas, closing the road.

According to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, Route 52 will be closed from Brisbin Road to O’Brien Road, and Grove Road will be shut down between Van Dyke Road and Bell Road due to the accident. It is unknown when these roads will be opened.
