SHOREWOOD, IL — Shorewood Police Deputy Chief Eric Allen announced Tuesday that an anonymous tip that as many as 50 people were drinking underage at the Skooter's Roadhouse at 700 West Jefferson Street on June 26 resulted in nine underage arrests for possession of fraudulent driver's licenses.

Allen told Joliet Patch that this marks the largest confiscation of fake IDs from a single incident at a bar in the past decade.

"It was a busy night," Allen told Joliet Patch's editor Tuesday. "The initial complaint said 50 underage (people)."

Upon their arrival, Shorewood police saw several people who looked under 21 lined up at the bar's entrance, and some individuals exited the bar and ran after the police showed up, Allen said.

Outside the bar, three people — Cameron Murphy, 19, of Plainfield, Cooper Bridges, 19, of Plainfield and Liam Nicholas, of Plainfield, turned over to Shorewood police their legal Illinois driver's licenses as well as fake out-of-state IDs, Allen said.

Inside Skooters, Shorewood police spoke with 20-year-old Grayslake resident Leo Kohn, who also had a fake license, police said.

"Shorewood officers confiscated Kohn’s fake ID and Skooters staff escorted Kohn out of the establishment," Tuesday's news release stated.

Additionally, Shorewood police said that two Frankfort residents, 19-year-old Jaden Rozak and 18-year-old Kade Vidovic, handed officers their out-of-state fake IDs that they intended to use to enter Skooter’s Roadhouse.

Officers found another teen, 19-year-old Katheryn Jasko, of Plainfield, trying to hide on the north side of the Skooter's building, according to police.

"Jasko appeared to be under the legal drinking age of 21 and officers smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her as she spoke," Allen said. "Jasko provided officers with a fake out-of-state driver’s license."

Later, two of Jasko's friends were approached by Shorewood police and asked for their IDs. They were 19-year-old Isabella Devenuto and 19-year-old Chloe Borsellino, both of Plainfield. They "turned over their fake State of Illinois driver’s licenses," police said.

During the past two weeks, eight of the nine minors turned themselves in at the Shorewood Police Station. They were all charged with possession of fraudulent IDs and released on $1,500 personal recognizance bonds.

Shorewood police say they are seeking an arrest warrant for Kohn, who didn’t turn himself in.

"As of this time, we are not investigating Skooters Roadhouse for any level of neglect of duty or irresponsibility," Allen told Patch.

But it's not the first time the roadhouse has been connected to underage drinking. A Skooter's Roadhouse employee was arrested in May and charged with unlawful delivery of alcoholic liquor to a minor, according to the Illinois State police.
