Stabbing At Shorewood's Mobile Home Park Involved Scissors, Trail Of Blood Found By Police Officers

Shorewood police said the victim exited the residence, and officers observed a large laceration on their chin with fresh blood.

SHOREWOOD, IL — Over the past week, the Shorewood Police Department has made a handful of unrelated arrests involving men who lived at the Imperial Mobile Home Park at 106 East Jefferson Street. One arrest has resulted in the indefinite detention at the Will County Jail for 57-year-old Doug Ritchey, who stands accused of using a pair of scissors to stab someone inside his mobile home.

Shorewood police said Ritchey's arrest happened at 10:16 p.m. last Saturday, Aug. 1. As of Thursday, he remains at the county jail facility on charges of aggravated domestic battery.

According to Shorewood police, the officers responded to 106 E. Jefferson St. for a domestic disturbance.

WESCOM advised that Ritchey called to report the victim tried to kill him and that he stabbed the victim in the face with scissors. Upon arrival, police said the officers heard screaming from inside the residence. The officers knocked on the door and announced themselves. No one answered. The victim came out of the residence, and the officers observed a large laceration on the chin with fresh blood.

Shorewood police said the officers entered the residence and observed broken fixtures and a blood trail. The officers met with Ritchey and placed him under arrest on charges of aggravated domestic battery, and he was taken to the Will County's jail, where he was also an inmate 10 years ago in 2016.
