Bertino-Tarrant Hosts Kids Fair at Troy Middle School

Event is Feb. 16.

State Sen. Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant (D-Shorewood) will partner with community organizations in February to hold a Kids’ Fair for area elementary students.

The event will take place on Monday, Feb. 16, at Troy Middle School, 5800 W. Theodore St., from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

“As a lifelong educator, I know the importance of connecting children and parents with local services,” Senator Bertino-Tarrant said. “I would like to thank participating organizations for making this day possible.”

More than 30 groups will participate in the Kids’ Fair, including local public libraries, Shorewood Police, Plainfield Fire Protection District and Joliet Junior Kids’ College. Story time will be hosted by the Fountaindale Public Library District and free haircuts will be offered by the Salon Professional Academy. Additionally, Home Depot will have a craft workshop, an Ice Queen will be in attendance and the Pilcher Park Nature Center will bring turtles and snakes.

“The Kids’ Fair will have something for everyone, and I encourage children and parents to attend,” Bertino-Tarrant said.
