Carson's Corner: New Shorewood Restaurant Opens For Lunch
Carson's Corner opened in March at the site of the former Louie's Pizza along Route 59 in Shorewood.

SHOREWOOD, IL — A new Shorewood carryout restaurant that opened in March along Route 59 is now staying open for lunch. Carson's Corner, located inside the former Louie's Pizza restaurant, 716 Cottage St., is now open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
Carson's Corner is attached to the Bull Pen Sports Bar.
In June, Patch profiled Carson's Corner's signature sandwich, the Italian breaded steak sandwich, which had been drawing customers from as far away as Dwight.

Carson's is owned Michael Antonson. He runs Carson's along with his wife, Maria, and their daughter, Allison.
During Thursday's interview, Antonson told Patch that Wednesday marked his first day of opening for lunch. "The first two days it increased business," Antonson remarked.

He urged area companies and businesses to call ahead with their lunch orders, and he can have their food ready for pickup.
"They can call at 11, and I will have the food ready at noon," he said.
The breaded Italian steak remains the most popular item, he said.
The restaurant owner said that more people are also trying his homemade thin crust pizza. So far, the pepperoni and sausage has been the most popular.
Antonson said that his meatballs and his Italian sausage are other items on the menu that are drawing a lot of positive feedback from customers.
The phone number to order takeout from Carson's Corner is 815-741-3959.
