Child Pornographer From Shorewood Learns Bail: Prosecutors

Friday marked the Will County bail hearing for Shorewood resident Jonathan Shaw, who is 37 years old.

SHOREWOOD, IL — A 37-year-old Shorewood man remained in the Will County Jail on Friday night following Thursday's arrest by the Illinois State Police on four counts of child pornography possession. The criminal complaint against Jonathan Shaw states that he had nude or partially nude photos of girls under the age of 18 and girls under the age of 13.

Shaw was booked into the Will County Jail around 10:30 p.m. Thursday following the state police investigation. On Friday, Shaw appeared in bond court before Will County Judge Fred Harvey.

The judge set Shaw's bail at $200,000, meaning the resident from the 500 block of Shorewood Drive must come up with $20,000 cash to regain his freedom while awaiting his trial date.

In addition to setting the high bail, Harvey also notified Shaw that he will not be allowed to possess or operate any computer or cell phone for any reason or purpose in the event that he posts bond.
