Crash Kills 2 in Channahon Twp.

Two 21-year-olds were ejected from the vehicle and killed on the scene.

A car accident claimed the lives of two 21-year-olds during the early morning hours of June 4.

According to Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Fred Rivera, Tyler Fox and Darcy Chobar, residents of Channahon and Shorewood, respectively, were driving northbound in a Buick and for reasons unknown struck the rear of a semi and lost control of the vehicle.

“They rolled over and were ejected and killed on scene,” Rivera said.

The semi driver, Carlos Ward, 56, was not injured. Ward is a resident of Robbins. According to Rivera, Ward did not appear to be at fault and no citations were issued.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:01 a.m. south of Route 6, just off of Bluff Rd. in Channahon Township.
