Drunken, Handcuffed Man Runs From Cops, Falls Down: Police
The drunken Joliet man tried to make a break for it after he was arrested for driving under the influence, police said.

A drunken, handcuffed Joliet man dashed away from the cops but fell down during his flight for freedom, police said.
Aaron Simpson, 41, only made it about a block when he ran from the law shortly after midnight Wednesday, police said. He reportedly suffered an injury to his eyebrow and shoulder.
Simpson was pulled over late Wednesday on West Jefferson Street near Hammes Avenue. He lied about his name, turned out to have a suspended driver’s license and was drunk, police said, and he was placed under arrest.

After he was processed at the police station, Simpson complained of feeling unwell, police said. He reportedly dry-heaved and was allowed to sit in a squad car with the door open and his feet out so he could throw up on the ground if he needed to.
But Simpson then apparently felt healthy enough to make a run for it, as he allegedly took off north through the police station parking lot over to Jefferson Street. The handcuffed Simpson didn’t get far before he fell down and was recaptured.
