Northern Tradition Farm Holds Beginner Horseback Riding Lessons, Registration Deadlines Week Before Session Start

HORSEBACK RIDING LESSONS

This is an introduction to horses and riding basics, designed for those who have little or no previous horse experience. It is designed to be repeated until basic skills are achieved. Basic skills covered are mounting, dismounting and principles of good horsemanship and rider safety. Riders spend time riding at a walk, learning balance and basic cues. Each rider will be accompanied by an assistant walking beside him or her providing individualized instruction. Riders may also experience a sitting trot. After completion of this level, riders may progress to the intermediate level. All riders must wear a safety helmet, which is provided, and long pants.
