'Ride the Rock' Family Bike Ride

The Forest Preserve District of Will County will hold its sixth annual "Ride the Rock," a free, all-ages family bike ride at Rock Run Greenway--I & M Canal Access.

The event will include a 16-mile loop bike ride along the Rock Run Trail, Joliet Junction Trail and I & M Canal State Trail.

Four rest stops will be available along the route, which will begin and end from the same spot.

Pre-registration is recommended.

Pre-registered riders will be able to check in at 9 a.m.

The first 1,000 pre-registered riders to check in will receive a free event t-shirt.  

On-site registration will be available at the event, but same-day registrants will not be able to check-in until 9:30 a.m., and will not be eligible for an event t-shirt.

All riders must set out on the trail by noon.

The event will also include music, face painting and bike-safety checks at I & M Canal Access until 3 p.m. Food will be available for purchase.

The event is recommended for individual riders of at least 11 years of age.

Participants must bring their own bikes. Riders should wear safety helmets and bring drinking water.
