Vocalist Kym Frankovelgia will perform for residents and the public at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, in the Grand Ballroom at The Timbers of Shorewood retirement community, 1100 N. River Rd, Shorewood, IL.
Frankovelgia has a powerful love and respect for the music of a bygone era – the 1920s through the ‘50s. The talented singer began her career on cruise ships and night clubs. She has performed with The Ink Spots, The Four Lads, Allison McKay and Connie Haines. She also sang with the Sammy Kaye Orchestra, the Glenn Miller Band, the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, and the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and more.
“I began working specifically for seniors, private parties, social clubs and organizations,” she said. “What seemed like a good idea at the time turned out to be a great idea.”
The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay - a weekend, a week, a month or longer.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information call Shelly Goggins at 815-609-0669 or visit http://www.timbersofshorewood.com.
