Food 4 Less Sells Winning $500,000 Lottery Ticket

“It really does only take one ticket to win!” Andrew Craig said after winning half a million dollars playing Lucky Day Lotto.

The lucky Crest Hill resident’s $1 Quick Pick ticket matched all five numbers - 07 - 18 - 24 - 33 – 35 – to win $500,000 in the June 23 Lucky Day Lotto evening drawing, a lottery spokeswoman said Thursday.

Craig, 54, has lived in Crest Hill for 16 years. His plans for the windfall include buying a new car and investing.

“I took my time and got some professional financial advice before claiming my prize. I plan to invest wisely,” he said.

An occasion Lucky Day Lotto player, Craig said he plays once or twice each week. He bought his winning ticket at Food 4 Less, 1701 N. Larkin Ave. in Crest Hill.

The retailer received a bonus of $5,000, 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket, according to the lottery.
