Brett is a Joliet Junior College Foundation Board Member and has been an educator in the County of Will for over 20 years, and now, Mr. Gould is running for City of Joliet Councilman, in the April 7th elections.
The District 2 Councilman race is non-partisan. There are currently 2 candidates vying for the District 2 Councilman spot, and “in-person” early voting at the Will County Clerk’s Office has already begun, and will continue until March 20th.
District 2 encompasses portions of the City and Township of Joliet and even portions of Troy Township and Plainfield Township. The City of Joliet holds host to approximately 150,000 residents and the District 2 portion of the city hosts roughly 28,000 residents and businesses.
Brett described some of the reasoning behind his run for council seat, stating “I have been encouraged to run for the Joliet City Council by key city leaders, labor organizations and numerous concerned citizens.” In making the final decision to run Brett pledged to “bring the same dedication, commitment and fiscal responsibility to the City of Joliet as I have done during my tenure with the Joliet Park District.” In addition, “I am proud to be endorsed by the Will County Deputy Sheriff’s Union, for my commitment to safe communities across the City of Joliet,” Gould said.
In keeping with his commitment to the community, Brett introduced his community information sheet (seen here) designed to inform the citizens of Joliet of his education, experience and qualifications for the office of Joliet Councilman. Brett stated that even though some citizens may know of him from the Joliet Park District, he still felt the need to better inform others for his plans for the city. Gould informs citizens that he’d like to revitalize and reinvest in our neighborhoods, maintain essential city services, promote safety and security, and, implement a balanced and fiscally responsible budget. Citizens can download Brett’s community information sheet, for free online, and have the ability to share it with others via Facebook or other social media (seen here).
Brett also states that he is available and can be contacted through other social media, such as his Facebook page, his Twitter page, his SoundCloud page, and, a Pinterest page (all found by searching for “Elect Brett Gould”). Lastly, Brett states, “I’m proud of our growing presence on YouTube. Citizens can get to know me a little bit more and be informed as well as entertained.” Brett’s YouTube channel is available right from his website. The general public can meet with Brett Gould at his upcoming fundraiser on March 10th at ”McBrides on 52,” a bar & restaurant in Joliet, details can be found online.
