Former Sox Star Ron Kittle Coming Out to the Ball Park

White Sox slugger Ron Kittle is coming out to Silver Cross Field for Tuesday's Slammer's game and will sing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game."

White Sox fan-favorite Ron Kittle will appear at the team’s game against the Washington Wild Things on Tuesday.

“Ron is beloved by baseball fans not only for his big bat but for his big personality as well,” said Slammers President Bill Waliewski. “We’re excited to have him out at Silver Cross Field to meet with our fans.”

Kittle will participate in pregame festivities and will be available for autographs during the game. He’ll also stop by the Slammers’ radio booth to chat with Mark Vasko and Bill Waliewski. Fans will also get to hear his vocal skills as Kittle will lead the singing of Take Me Out to the Ballgame.

After a cup of coffee in the majors in 1982, Kittle made a big splash in 1983. He hit 35 home runs and drove in 100 runs on his way to an All-Star Game appearance and the Rookie of the Year award.

Kittle spent eight out of his 10 big league seasons) with the Southsiders. His lone postseason appearance came in 1983 when the White Sox lost to the Orioles in playoffs.

Tickets can be purchased at the box office, by phone at 815-722-2287 or online. The Box Office is open on non-game days from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the week and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays but tickets can be purchased online at any time.
