Hammel Woods Dog Park Event Is Friday
Yappy Hour aims to defray construction costs for the new 2.3-acre park for smaller dogs.

SHOREWOOD, IL - If you're a pet owner enjoys bring your dog to the Hammel Woods dog park, mark this event on your calendars and get your tickets in advance. The Friends of the Forest Preserve District has a major fund-raising event called Yappy Hour. It's from 4 to 7 p.m. this Friday, Sept. 8 at the Hammel Woods - DuPage River Access. Proceeds will defray costs for construction of a new 2.3-acre enclosed play area for dogs that weigh 35 pounds or less.
The project is estimated to cost around $200,000. Construction could start this month and work would finish next July, weather permitting.
