Holy Family Pre-K Becoming Scientists

Not only have the 4 year olds in Holy Family's pre-K program tackled the task of blending words, they have also enjoyed class time devoted to hands on science experiments.  Through the help of Density Dan, a character in the science series The Quirkles, these youngsters discovered that water with a high salt content was heavier or denser that plain water.  Much to their amazement, the egg placed in the salt water floated.  Who isn't eager for the arrival of spring?  The pre-K students are excited to utilize science to investigate butterflies hatching in their classroom this spring.  In addition to science and reading, Holy Family preschoolers and pre-K students also embrace the teachings of Jesus through prayer and the sharing of Bible stories.  Because playtime is key to learning respect for others and cooperation, the recent addition of a wooden train table set to the pre-K classroom has benefited their energetic free time.  Join us for our upcoming preschool/pre-K open house Monday, March 10th from 9am - 4pm, and witness the strength of our program first hand.  We also offer an extended day program, and BEFORE & AFTER school care.  For more information, please call the school office (815)725-8149.
