Holy Family Catholic School in Shorewood will kick off their Catholic Schools Week celebration with registration for new families and an open house on Sunday, January 26th. The open house will be held from 9am - 2pm. Visitors can expect to talk with teachers, meet current school families, and visit our beautiful classrooms during an informative tour.
New families interested in registering a child for any of our preK - 8th grade classes should bring an original county birth certificate, a baptismal certificate, and the $75 registration fee.
Holy Family students look forward to the many activities that will take place during this festive week. The theme of Catholic Schools Week 2014 is Communities of Faith, Knowledge, and Service and the events Holy Family has planned will celebrate this theme.

Monday’s pajama day will be extra sweet, because the teachers will be preparing a pancake breakfast for the students. During the Science Fair on the 28th, the 7th graders' hard work will be displayed in the gym. Judges will review projects and test the students' knowledge through questions in order to assess their work. The rest of the student body will also have an opportunity to check out all of the projects and learn more about each topic.
Different grades will be assigned a different food item for the ‘Make A Meal’ service project as the school celebrates its dedication to service. These generously donated items will be supplied to a local food bank by the school. The 30th promises to be an exciting afternoon for the students as they all gather in the gym for the annual junior high spelling bee. The week also includes penny wars, which will benefit a Holy Family school family whose premature infant is hospitalized. An ice cream social and a crazy sock day are scheduled to make the week memorable. The Alumni Mass will be an excellent opportunity to celebrate our faith and the many accomplishments of our recent Holy Family Alums.

The all school pep rally is always a highlight that wraps up the week. 8th graders challenge their willing and brave parents to a high-energy basketball game. Of course the pep rally wouldn't be complete without an entertaining pie throwing contest with a teacher used as a target, kids’ relay races, a T.P. teacher mummy wrap, and spirit competition. Which grade will be awarded with the spirit stick next this year?
Each year Catholic Schools Week festivities prove to be a celebration of all that Holy Family embodies, and this year will certainly be one to remember!
