Husband and Wife Conservationists Honored at Sustainability Festival
Charlotte and Norman Codo will be honored at the event at Joliet Junior College.

A kick-off reception for the GR2011: Celebrating Sustainability Festival will be held Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Joliet Junior College.
The public is invited to this free reception honoring Charlotte and Norman Codo.
The Codos wlll be presented with the 2011 Sustainability Award. The husband-and-wife team have restored 24 acres of farmland in rural Frankfort to native Illinois prairie and savanna and have a large organic garden and orchard. In addition, the Codos have shared their resources and have supported the efforts of others working on conservation, gardening and sustainable local food products in the area.

Beverages and snacks will be served at the reception.
The second annual GR2011: Celebrating Sustainability Festival will be May 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Joliet Public Library's Black Road Branch. This free family program is designed to create excitement and enthusiasm for green products, services and technologies.

The reception on April 21 is sponsored by Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center and Joliet Junior College. It will be held in the T-Building Conference Center at Joliet Junior College, 1215 Houbolt Road, in Joliet.
