Jackson Street Bridge to Be Closed April 8 to 13

Start planning your alternate route -- yet another downtown Joliet bridge over the Des Plaines River will be closed next week.

The Jackson Street bridge will be blocked to traffice from Monday through 8 a.m. April 13 so that the Illinois Department of Transportation can do maintenance work, according to a news release from the city of Joliet.

Detours directing eastbound traffic down Broadway, Ruby and Chicago streets and westbound traffic to Scott, Ruby and Broadway streets will be set up, the release said.
