Jazzy January at The Timbers of Shorewood
All that jazz at The Timbers of Shorewood.

The jazz quartet BMR 4 will entertain at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5 at retirement community, 1100 N. River Road in Shorewood. This event is open the public.
The quartet members are Jay Moynihan, reeds and keyboards; Neal Alger, guitar; Chris Bernhardt, acoustic bass; and Mike Rodbard, drums.
The BMR 4 evolved from a blues-rock band called The Buzz, which Bernhardt founded in the late ‘90s. BMR stands for Bernhardt, Moynihan, and Rodbard. Rodbard is a graduate of DePaul University's School of Music, and Moynihan got his degree from the Berklee College of Music.

The group plays a number of songs rooted in blues and R and B. They have several albums and have appeared at many of Chicago’s jazz clubs.
"It's music the general audience can relate to," Bernhardt said, "but jazz folks like us, too."
