Joliet Gangster Caught With Pistol on Mississippi Avenue: Cops

The pistol was stolen, police said.

A Joliet gangster was caught with a stolen pistol in the waistband of his pants, police said.

Devontae Fox, 22, was jailed on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a firearm without an owner’s identification card, possession of ammunition without a firearm owner’s identification card, and possession of a firearm by a street gang member.

Officers staking out the area of Mississippi and First avenues Sunday evening due to recent shootings saw Fox bend down and jam something into his waistband, police said. The officers reportedly stopped Fox, found the pistol and determined it had been stolen.

Fox admitted he belongs to a gang, police said.
