Joliet Man Maced New Lenox Walmart Worker: Cops

The Joliet man was arrested when he came back to the store three days later to steal some more, police said.

A Joliet man Maced a New Lenox Walmart worker when he got caught shoplifting and was arrested when he came back to the store three days later to steal some more, police said.

Tievon Garner, 23, Maced the employee when he was confronted about his thievery Sunday afternoon, police said.

Garner was able to escape but returned to the store about 11 p.m. Wednesday for a little more larceny, police said. This time, Garner brought along an alleged partner-in-crime, 20-year-old Jalin Daniels of Aurora.

Garner was less successful in his second attempt at ripping off the Walmart, police said, and he and Daniels were arrested.

Daniels was charged with retail theft. He posted bond at the police station and was released. Garner was charged with aggravated battery, burglary and retail theft. He was taken to the Will County jail and his bond was set at $100,000.
