JTHS Bridge Builder Spotlight: Sabrina Price

Sabrina Price serves as a JTHS Bridge Builder, which means that she volunteers her time to help connect families and District 204 schools when questions or needs arise. Price is very familiar with serving as a bridge, as she enjoys improving the lives of others through the connections throughout the community through a variety of other service roles she fulfills as well.

Price is a graduate of Plainfield School District 202. While in high school, she was involved in Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Varsity Girls Soccer, National Honor Society, COGS Youth Group, and other activities. This involvement helped prepare her for college, as well as the community work she does today. Price has a Bachelor of Science with High Distinction from the University of Illinois with a triple major in Mathematics, Statistics, & Economics.

Price currently dedicates her time as a stay-at-home mother of four, a Troy CCSD 30-C School Board Member, a Will County Bridges Out of Poverty Initiative Leader, a Past Chairman of the Council at Church of the Good Shepherd Evangelical Covenant, and a community volunteer. Her hard work has not gone unnoticed, as she is featured on the Troy School District 30-C Wall of Fame. Her work on the Bridges Out of Poverty Program has also been featured on the JTHS website and by local newspapers.

Sabrina said, “I currently have a freshman and a sophomore at Joliet West, and two younger children in the Troy district. I'm happy to assist other parents in any way I can. Parent topics I am most interested in or familiar with are band, honors/AP classes, math, and class schedule planning.”

When asked what advice she would give to current high school students, Price said, “Take advantage of the many opportunities that high school has to offer! From extensive class offerings to various clubs, sports, and activities, school has so much. Don't just get through it, soak up as much of the quality experience as you can. These experiences will help mold and grow you for whatever path you head down next. Choose to be and become your best self!”
