Kentucky Derby Weekend at the Local OTB Sure to be a Crazy Party
Bookie Magee's Hideaway & OTB is putting on a weekend bash highlighted by Saturday evening's Run For the Roses.
You can't bet the Kentucky Derby legally anywhere in Shorewood, but if you head east a couple miles out of town you can lay your money down and have a great time at Bookie Magee's Hideaway & OTB.
Bookie Magee's manager Michelle Schaade expects at least 1,000 people to filter through the West Jefferson Street OTB throughout Saturday, with as many as 500 to be hanging out there at one time for the Kentucky Derby.
And the fun actually starts Friday with not only the Kentucky Oaks, but with live music by the band SunFallen in the Bud Party Tent, an appearance by radio personality Roy Gregory, and the option to pre-bet Saturday's Derby.

Friday will also feature numerous giveaways and prizes, courtesy of Budweiser, Schaade said. But Saturday is still the real attraction.
"That day this becomes a real party place," Schaade said.
