Klima: Shorewood Officially Has a 'New Chief' in Town

Aaron Klima recently was signed to a four-year contract that will pay him $108,000 annually to work as Shorewood's police chief.

Everything about Aaron Klima's work ethic and background made him an obvious choice to become Shorewood's police chief.

He has been a lifelong resident of the Shorewood-Troy area, he joined the Shorewood police department in 1997 as a patrol officer and he has steadily climbed his way up the ladder, according to a Sun-Times News Group Report.

He had been serving as the Village's acting police chief since the retirement of Robert Puleo in 2011, according to the report. And, at a recent Village board meeting, the "acting" part of his title was removed.

Klima was granted a four-year contract that will pay him $108,000 annually, according to the Sun-Times News Group report.

"He did such a good job in that position that it seemed natural that we would promote him," stated Shorewood Mayor Rick Chapman in the report. "We now officially have a new chief in town."
