Lost Dog: Pooch Went Missing July 4 In Shorewood

Zar the mastiff was spooked by fireworks and ran off.

SHOREWOOD, IL — A devastated owner is hoping someone spots her dog after he went missing July 4 in Shorewood. Zar, a 3-year-old brown mastiff, was startled by fireworks and ran off. He went missing from the River Crossing subdivision in Shorewood and was last seen on Seil Road between River Road and County Line Road near Four Seasons Park.

"He is my heart His little wagging tail gave me purpose every day," his owner said. "If you do see him don't call him or chase him just stay still and contact me while trying to keep a side eye on him. He is a big lover!"
