MARIANO'S AND CHICAGOLAND POLICE "STUFF THE SQUAD" TO REDUCE HUNGER AND GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
Mariano's and community police departments are working together to reduce hunger in the Chicago suburbs with"Stuff the Squad" food drive

A can of pineapple. A bag of groceries. A five dollar bill. They may seem like trivial things, but for some, they can make all the difference.
Mariano’s and five community police departments are working together to reduce hunger in the Chicago suburbs with the second “Stuff the Squad” food drive and event. Happening now through Saturday, September 19, shoppers at all five stores can purchase a pre-stuffed $5 or $10 grocery bag, or add any nonperishable food item from neighborhood food pantries’ wish lists to their shopping cart. These donated items will be delivered directly to their partner food pantry.
“Hunger continues to be a constant challenge for many people in our local communities,” said Robert A. Mariano, Chairman, President and CEO of Mariano’s. “We’re proud to work with several of the local food pantries that are such a valuable source of sustenance for those in the community, and look forward to partnering with our shoppers to help us give back.”

The drive will close on Saturday, September 19, with Mariano’s and the local police departments stuffing police squad cars with donated food items and the $5 and $10 pre-stuffed bags. From 10 a.m. to noon, each store taking part will offer face-painting and family-friendly activities, including Tales for Tots Story Time at noon, as a thank you for the communities’ outpouring of support.
