Minooka Dunkin' Donuts Facebook Post Causes Confusion Nationwide

A Facebook post by a Minooka Dunkin’ Donuts location spread like wildfire over social media last week, causing confusion over a free-coffee promotion.
The Minooka franchise posted an offer for a free medium hot or iced coffee for teachers every Monday in September. The post was quickly shared via social media, leading some to believe the offer was good nationwide,according to EducationWorld.

A spokesperson for the doughnut and coffee chain responded toEducationWorld, clarifying that the promotion was good only at the Minooka restaurant.
“While this offer was intended to be targeted to the restaurant’s local community only, it has caused guest confusion outside of the Minooka area,” the rep told the website. “The image has since been removed to avoid causing further confusion.”

The post, which has been deleted, reportedly read, “Teacher Appreciation: Every Monday in September, teachers start out their week with a free medium hot or iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts! Just show your ID!”
Some Dunkin’ Donuts customers t ook to the chain’s corporate Facebook page to ask about the promotion. Dunkin’ responded to some of the posts, clarifying that the freebie was good only at the Minooka location.
