Motorcyclist Killed After Losing Control On I-80 In Troy Township

The Will County Coroner's Office said funeral arrangement are pending at this time.

SHOREWOOD, IL - A 51-year-old man from Chenoa, IL died on Saturday afternoon after he lost control of his motorcycle on Interstate 80 in Troy Township and was ejected from his motorcycle. Kevin Smith was riding eastbound on I-80, east of Interstate 55, when Smith lost control near mile marker 126, the Will County Coroner's Office announced.

Smith's motorcycle crossed the center median, and he was thrown from his motorcycle. He was taken to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet where he was pronounced dead around 3:30 p.m. Chenoa is about 70 miles from the site of Smith's wreck. It's a small town of less than 2,000 in McLean County.

The Illinois State Police is still investigating the Will County fatality, coroner Patrick O'Neil said.
