In District 2, Republican Cory Singer snagged more than 34 percent of the vote, according to unofficial totals, to return to the board. Singer did not seek re-election to the board in 2012, instead running unsuccessfully against Will County Executive Larry Walsh.
Republican caucus chairman Jim Moustis kept his spot on the board, with 41.57 percent of the vote, according to Will County and Aurora tallies.

District 5
In District 5, Republicans Darren Bennefield and Gretchen Fritz won spots on the board, with 30 and 29 percent of the vote, respectively, according to unofficial results.
Bennefield, a former Wheatland Township trustee, was appointed to represent District 5 earlier this year after the departure of board member Lee Ann Goodson.
Fritz is currently a Plainfield Library District board member and pastor at a Bolingbrook church.
Democrat Reed Bible, elected to the board in 2012, did not win enough of the vote to keep his seat. Newcomer Sheila Raddatz, a fellow Democrat, also unsuccessfully sought a spot in District 5.

In District 9, Democrat Lauren Staley-Ferry looks poised to join the board after winning 37.67 percent of the vote, according to unofficial results. She is the daughter-in-law of District 13 board member Mark Ferry.
