Marilyn Beatrice Tarizzo passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the age of 95.Marilyn was born in Joliet, IL, on October 24, 1930, the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (née Skroko) Bozic.She was a proud graduate of Providence Catholic High School and was a life-long supporter of the school and many other charities.

Marilyn is survived by her three sons, Jeffrey (Teresa) of Wheaton, Gary (Conny) of Salassa, Italy, and David (Lisa) of Hinsdale; one daughter, Marlene of Newark, IL; four grandchildren, Annalisa, Isabella, Matthew, and Antonio; one sister, Nancy Bozic of Joliet; and numerous DiGiulio family nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Dr. Richard Tarizzo; her parents; and her sister, Joan Bozic.

Before devoting her life to raising four children, she worked at AT&T and an insurance company, both in Chicago, to support her family as Richard trained to become a vascular surgeon.

Marilyn loved to travel with Richard and visited many countries, including taking a wonderful trip around the world with him. She loved dancing, music, seashells, castles, flowers, and anything in the color apricot.She was a voracious reader and a wonderful cook.She especially loved holiday gatherings and spending time with her family.

Visitation for Marilyn will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL from 8:00 a.m. until the time of prayers at 9:30 a.m., followed by a procession to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.Interment will follow at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Providence Catholic High School or please have a holy mass offered at a Catholic Church for the repose of Marilyn’s soul.
