All sorts of people this week were bound for places they don't belong, or at least not for such a long time.
Things make sense in .
Shorewood's a great place, and the marvelous people who are its citizenry belong there. No, it's more than that. They deserve to be there.
Everything's very reasonable and adds up. But once you get outside Shorewood, once you're in other places, things fall apart.

Take Cooperstown, NY, for instance, where they are going to put Ron Santo in the Hall of Fame. Ron Santo! What?
If they're letting that guy in, Mark Teahen should have something to look forward to after he retires. Whose idea was it to let Santo in anyway? Were they trying to make enshrining Ryne Sandberg look less ridiculous?

So Santo and Teahen are in the Hall of Fame forever. Then, the day after that travesty, up in Chicago, they sentence Blogojevich to 14 years in prison. Fourteen years!
We at the Shorewood Patch are no fans of Blago (even though we did vote for him — look who he was running against) but come on, 14 years? For what? Being greedy and stupid? For 14 years somebody should be dead.
But 14 years is what he got, and Santo is in the Hall of Fame. Down is up, day is night. Forget it. We're staying in Shorewood where things make sense.
