Pizza Ranch To Build Shorewood Restaurant: Klima

SHOREWOOD, IL — A sit-down restaurant chain that started in 1981 in Iowa and now has 213 restaurants in 15 states will be opening its first location in the Joliet area this year. On Friday, Shorewood Village Manager Aaron Klima told Patch that construction for the new Pizza Ranch will be getting underway in the near future.

The Pizza Ranch will be built on one of the open lots along the frontage road near the new La Quinta Inn & Suites that finally opened last summer after four years of construction work.

Shorewood's Village Board reviewed the Pizza Ranch restaurant project last May. The ordinance called for a conditional use to operate the Pizza Ranch Restaurant at 19735 NE Frontage Road.

Klima said the new Pizza Ranch will be a nice compliment for Shorewood's corridor right off the Interstate 55 exit, where the new hotel is located. He expects it will become a destination for many families.

According to the Pizza Ranch website, its vision is "To glorify God by positively impacting the world" and its mission is "to give every guest a legendary experience."

Iowa has the most Pizza Ranch Restaurants with 77. At the moment, there are only seven in Illinois: Bloomington, Galesburg, Morton, Peoria, Roscoe, Springfield and Sterling.
