Plainfield Man Charged in Fatal Heroin Overdose
Man charged with drug induced homicide in death of 20-year-old Plainfield woman in December 2014, Kendall County Sheriff says.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a Plainfield man in connection to a woman who died of a heroin overdose in December 2014.
Eric Ziarko, 21, has been charged with drug induced homicide which is a Class X felony in connection to the death of a Plainfield woman.

According to the charges, on Dec. 6, 2014 Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies and Oswego police officers responded to the 1000 block of Route 30 in unincorporated Aurora for a report of an unresponsive female who had stopped breathing.
Police immediately began performing CPR on 20-year-old Karly Jackson. Oswego fire district paramedics arrived and transported Jackson to Copley Hospital. Despite the first responders’ best efforts, Jackson was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Kane County Coroner’s Office performed an autopsy and determined the cause of death to be a drug overdose, police said.
Kendall County Sheriff’s detectives launched an investigation. Ziarko was arrested without incident and taken into custody on April 10. He is currently out on bail after posting $25,000 bond the day after his arrest.
In March 2012, Ziarko was arrested following a police raid at a friend’s Plainfield home.He was charged with manufacture/delivery of 15 or more grams of heroin, illegal possession of 30 or more grams of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
