SHOREWOOD —When you drive along the main corridors for Shorewood, Route 59 and U.S. 52, you don't see very many empty storefronts. Store vacancies are a rare event in the growing village west of Joliet, but every once in a while, a storefront goes empty within Shorewood.

And that happened this month with the departure of the Restored Interiors store located in the Apple Tree Plaza that is anchored by the Dairy Queen restaurant. Snider operated her Restored Interiors at 707 W. Jefferson St. Suite I.

Before moving to Shorewood's Apple Tree Plaza in the summer of 2021, Restored Interiors was on Earl Road for about a year. Restored Interiors first opened for business in October 2020.

"It is with a heavy heart that this October I have decided to close the doors of Restored Interiors," Abbey Snider announced on Facebook. "My son and hopefully growing family soon will always be my greatest work, so I am focusing more on them during this season of my life. Words can’t even express how much I appreciate all of (your) business and support over the years, as well as the relationships built around it."

"I am not stopping Restored completely, just downsizing," Snider stressed in her announcement to her Facebook followers. "I will continue to do what I love most, flipping furniture, and continue to sell through our Facebook page and other social media. I will also be continuing custom work on furniture as time allows — the pickup location will just be different coming October."

With the Shorewood storefront completely empty now, Snider has reopened her Restored Interiors in Morris. True North in Morris was opening a second location, so Snider indicated that she has moved into that location as a vendor. The True North antique store is located at 539 Bedford Road in Morris.

According to the updated Facebook page, Restored Interiors "is a local business that sells refinished furniture, antiques, and home decor at Building 2 of True North in Morris."
