Right as Rain ... in Shorewood!
You can learn a lot about rain gardens and rain barrels at a class in Shorewood Village Hall.

Want to learn about rain gardens and rain barrels? Then do we have a class for you.
The Conservation Foundation is offering a class called Rain as a Resource. The session starts at 7 p.m. and will be held in the board room of .
The class will cover the ins and outs of rain barrels and rain gardens.

"The native, wet-loving plants of rain gardens utilize the water, filter it and return much of the water to the aquifers," says a flier describing the event. "Rain gardens beautify our yards and help turn low, wet areas into functioning landscapes. The plantings will create great habitats for birds and butterflies too!"
The flier went on to say that "rain barrels are another way to capture water and put it to good use! Information regarding the purchase of discounted rain barrels will be available."

The barrels are going for $75 and come in three colors: Dark gray, black and terra cotta.
Accessories and connections are also available and can be picked up at village hall on Saturday, May 5, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
