Senior Advisory Council Presents 'Family Matters: Planning for Future Needs'

Illinois Representative Tom Cross and his senior advisory council present a panel discussion titled,  “Family Matters: Planning for Future Needs,” from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, at The Timbers of Shorewood Retirement Community, 1100 N. River Rd. This event is free and open to the public.

Speakers include:

• Dr. Sandy Carlson - taking care of the caregiver.
• Jennifer Lynch, an elder care attorney from June, Prodehl, Renzi & Lynch - wills, power of attorney and Medicaid. 
• A representative from the Senior Services Center of Will County - available services for seniors and caregivers including Medicaid eligibility. 
• Ken McConnaughay of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney - long term healthcare insurance.

The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments as well as a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay - a weekend, a week, a month or longer.
