Shorewood, Channahon, Minooka 2017 Halloween Sex Offender Safety Map

SHOREWOOD, IL - Before kids go out trick or treating on Halloween, fall is a good time to take an inventory of who is living in your subdivision and the other places you may visit to trick or treat.

This map includes a total of 15 registered sex offenders, seven in Shorewood, four from both Channahon and Minooka. This map does not include one Shorewood offender currently in the Illinois Department of Corrections, one Minooka offender currently in the LaSalle County Jail as well as Minooka resident Ricky Britton, 56, who is listed as non-compliant for failing to maintain accurate sex offender registration records with the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Channahon has eight offenders on the state registry, however this map does not feature the two who are currently in state prison, another who is homeless and it doesn't include Richard Allen Kendall-Dodge, 26, who is listed on the state registry as location unknown.

Pins on the map represent addresses of offenders convicted of sex crimes. Roll your cursor over the pins, and you will see more information pop up, including the registered sex offender’s name, address, current age, convictions, and the age of the offender and victim at the time of the offense.

Registered sex offenders are prohibited from passing out candy on Halloween. They may not appear in public in a Halloween costume or as another child-centered holiday character, such as Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. Registered sex offenders, however, may wear a Halloween costume in their home, according to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry.
