Shorewood Criminal Defendant, 79, Can Return To Home
The 79-year-old Shorewood resident has retained the services of private counsel, downtown Joliet criminal defense attorney Daniel Walsh.

SHOREWOOD, IL — A 79-year-old Shorewood man facing three criminal charges in connection with domestic violence arrest can now return to his home in the 800 block of Glory Court, a Will County judge has ruled.
Last Sunday, Shorewood police hauled away Tom Bromfield in handcuffs, bringing him to the Will County jail, where he was charged with aggravated battery, domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence to the police.
According to his criminal complaint, Bromfield grabbed one of his relatives by her neck, a woman who is more than 60 years old. When the woman tried to call 911, Bromfield took the cellular phone from her after he had already committed an act of domestic violence against the woman, according to prosecutors.

A Will County judge set bail at $20,000 for Bromfield and ordered him to stay away from the victim and stay away from his house, as a result of his felony arrest.
This week, Bromfield hired private counsel, Joliet criminal defense lawyer Daniel Walsh, and Walsh filed a motion asking that Bromfield be allowed to return to his house on Glory Court.

Prosecutors objected, but Walsh won his motion and his client is now back on Glory Court after his son in Naperville posted the necessary 10 percent of his dad's $20,000 bail.
"The victim moved out, and she's living with another family member," Walsh told Joliet Patch during Wednesday's interview.
Walsh told Patch that it would be premature for him to make any comments about the prosecution's case or the circumstances of his client's arrest.
"I just filed my appearance, I don't have any of the police reports," Walsh said. "I would not be in a position to comment."
