Shorewood Crossroads Fest is Aug. 1 to 3

Live music, eating contests, beautiful baby and more at 38th annual event.

The 38th annual Shorewood Crossroads Fest is set for Friday through Sunday at Cene’s Four Seasons Park, located off West Seil Road.

Fest hours are 4 p.m. to midnight Friday, 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

This year’s event features a carnival, beer tent, kids szone, bingo and live music. Some of the attractions:

Friday

5-8 p.m.: Live music from Cover Story

Saturday

10 a.m.: Kiwanis Beautiful Baby Contest

1 p.m.: Illinois Dance Academy

2 p.m.: Guess What’s Cooking Pie Eating Contest

3 p.m.: Babe’s Hot Dog Eating Contest

5-9 p.m.: Live music from Strung Out

9 p.m.: Fireworks by the Village of Shorewood

9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.: Live music from ARRA

Sunday

Noon: Parade (offsite)

1 p.m.: rQ! BBQ Hot Slider Contest

2:30-6 p.m.: Live music from Back Country Roads

Police are urging drivers to expect traffic congestion and delays in and around Shorewood during the fest. Sunday morning until the end of the parade will be particularly congested throughout town, police said.
