
After a smashing debut, the Shorewood Community Garden will be back this spring and it will be bigger and better than ever.
The and are again teaming up to provide local residents with gardening space in .
Gardeners who participated last year will receive priority registration starting March 15. Open registration begins April 15.

"This year the Community Garden will be expanded by 42 additional plots," according to a statement released by the village. "In response to 2011 gardener feedback, educational opportunities and gardener meet-and-greets are being planned."
Gardeners can register at Shorewood Village Hall to rent one or more 10-foot-by-10 foot garden plots. The first garden plot costs $25. Additional plots are $15 each.

The plots will be available for planting on May 1, weather permitting, and must be planted by June 15.
Water service is provided near the garden. Parking for gardeners is available at the Troy Township Offices and in Four Seasons Park.
Plot registration is first-come, first-served. Shorewood Community Garden guidelines and registration forms are available at Village Hall, online at the village website, at the Troy Township office building, and on the township's website.
